Challenge: Burgerville is a quick-serve restaurant chain based here in the Pacific Northwest. I work with a team at Sasquatch Design Agency to deliver everything from print ads and packaging to in-restaurant signage and point-of-purchase messaging. The challenge is to balance the communication requirements of of the quick-serve realm (fast, clear, direct) with Burgerville’s unique perspective (community-centric, dedicated to local, seasonal, sustainable food, committed to serving the region in a deeper way). With that in mind, the constantly rotating menu means that the turnover always has to be quick.
Solution: We continue to find new ways to share the Burgerville message through storytelling and design. Simplicity is always a win. I work closely with the designer and account executive to find ways to condense and clarify copy by adding stickers or sidebars with additional information, let the design tell the story and distill the copy to the key elements to let the most important things shine through.
